Just $10 and 10 pounds of produce a week can lead to meaningful improvements in kids’ diets, shows a new JAMA Network Open study led by Dell Medical School’s Factor Health program that’s funded by EHF and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.
These new findings suggest that providing caregivers with easy access to produce and flexible resources can lead to quick — and lasting — results.
“The big takeaways for me: Healthy eating continued during the 4-week follow-up period after the program – and $10 grocery gift cards helped increase fruit/vegetable consumption even though they could have been spent on anything,” says Mini Kahlon, director and founder of Factor Health.
