HJAN Voting Challenge

The Health + Justice Advocacy Network (HJAN) is a network of Episcopalians in the Diocese of Texas living into our baptismal covenant through advocacy for health and justice policies.

Are you ready??? Here is what you need to know:
  1. Talk to your rector/vicar/vestry about taking part in the challenge.  

  2. Identify a member who will agree to be a point of contact and representative for your church. 

  3. Register your congregation at Health and Justice Advocacy Network – HJAN – Episcopal Health Foundation

  4. Visit the Episcopal Church Vote Faithfully site for materials, a toolkit, and additional ideas.
There are three ways to win:
Ways to run the challenge:
  • Track progress by creating a tally of the number of votes cast in a way that can be presented to HJAN judges. 
  • To compete in the video challenge, create a video encouraging your congregation and/or other congregations to vote for the candidate of their choice. Starting October 1, have your representative submit your Get Out the Vote video to EHF at the EHF Churches Facebook page  
  • Put articles in your newsletters and make announcements to encourage all to vote  
  • Display your progress at your church, to encourage participation. 
  • Challege other congregations to participate in the Voting Challenge 
  • After the election is finished, have your representative tally the number of voters and submit the count to HJAN using this form. The deadline for submission is November 7th

  • September 17: National Voter Registration Day 
  • October 7: Last Day to Register to Vote 
  • October 21: Early Voting begins 
  • October 25: Last Day for Ballot by Mail Applications to be Received 
  • November 1: Early Voting ends 
  • November 3: Vote Faithfully Day!
  • November 5: Election Day
  • November 7: Submit your Tally here
