Deep Listening: A Skill-Building Session
Date: Tuesday, June 11, 2024
Time: 12:00PM – 1:15PM CT
As we continue to navigate polarization in our communities and families, we find that our ability to navigate complex – often fraught – conversations is increasingly important. While listening is just one dimension of meaningful dialogue, it is a fundamental aspect of building trust across differences. In this learning session, we’ll dive into the practice of deep listening, a foundational skill in the development of spaces that emphasize belonging and support mental well-being. Through interactive exercises and guided discussion, participants will learn methods to practice listening with presence and reflecting in ways that show the speaker has been truly heard. Participants will leave with practical strategies to share with others and that can be applied in their daily interactions, enabling them to become more attentive, present listeners over time.
Please join us and invite others from your congregations or community!
Please contact Eric Moen at emoen@episcopalhealth.org if you have questions or concerns.
